The models that bear his name were designed by Fred and marketed by Lyon & Healy in Chicago. With rough semi-hardshell case.

- 3-layer center strip
- 19-fret ebony fingerboard
- Fancy pearl inlays of various shapes
- Headstock overlay features fancy pearl inlay and "VAN EPS" logo
- "Pancake" tuners with cream buttons
- Fancy wood marquetry fingerboard underlay
- Bass side has pearl parallelograms fret markers
- Metal-clad maple rim
- ~12" plastic head
- 28 brackets
- Van Eps tailpiece
- Hooks attach into tension hoop
- Arched tone ring on metal struts that fasten to internal bracket band on rim
- Resonator features Brazilian rosewood veneer and pie section pattern on back
- Fancy wood marquetry on sides and back of resonator
- 1-1/8" nut, ~22-¾" scale
- Once had an armrest (now gone, broken mounts are still on tension hoop)
- Replacement nut
- Front of headstock is over-sprayed
- Rough import semi-hardshell case (yellow lining)
