A handsome openback banjo, this custom OME Alpha features an 12" maple rim with no tone ring and a South American mahogany neck. The ebony fretboard features an S-shaped scoop for easier over-the-neck playing. This fine old time instrument was built in OME's small 3 craftsperson shop using sustainably harvested woods. A standard Alpha has a rolled brass tone hoop. This banjo does not and is priced lower accordingly.
