Part of Martin's 2018 reimagined Standard Series, the HD28 has been given vintage-inspired touches like aging toner on the top, open gear tuners, and antique white binding. Other updated features include forward shifted X bracing and a Modified Low Oval neck shape. It still offers the classic combination of Sitka spruce and East Indian rosewood, all wrapped in Martin's signature herringbone purfling, and the dreadnought body size kicks out powerful lows and rich tone. This model comes equipped with a Fishman Aura VT Enhance pickup system, which blends signals from two transducers (undersaddle and bridge plate) with Aura Acoustic Imaging for greater tonal dimension. Controls are mounted at the soundhole (volume, tone, blend), with 1/4" jack and easy-access battery box at endpin.
