GIBSON F-5 (1923)
condition abbreviations EC-, signed and dated by Lloyd Loar on July 9, 1923 (same day as Bill Monroe's mandolin, which is #73987), triple side-bound neck headstock, and body, triple top-bound tortoise plastic pickguard is stamped "PAT. MAR. 30, '09", pearl flowerpot and "The Gibson" inlays in headstock, pearl button arrowhead tuners, Loar-style "The Gibson" tailpiece cover, adjustable ebony bridge (stamped "PAT'D JAN. 18 21"), sunburst finish flamed maple neck, back and rims, carved spruce top, very rare, fully original (except one replacement tuner button), excellent structural shape (crack free), some evident scratches on the finish, but not too bad, as you can see in the photos, sounds great, from the family of the second owner, this is a previously uncataloged instrument, on consignment, with green-lined oblong OHSC (some wear) (SN:73984)
