VEGA V.I.P. (late 1970's)VEGA V.I.P. (late 1970's) VGC except needs some work (repair stripped coordinator rod to neck heel connection, refit or replace, setup, etc. - sold AS-IS), dark stained 2-piece maple neck with dark center stripe (finish has been removed from back of neck), scrolled peghead, double white-bound dark-stained maple resonator (inside of resonator appears to have been autographed by "Dr. Ralph Stanely and Tony Rice"), wood marquetry on edge of resonator (large area of finish wear on back), multi-ply 9/16" wood rim is refinished, archtop-style tone ring, tube and plate flange, white-bound 22 fret ebony fingerboard with fancy pearl inlays, 2 import D-tuners, 2 geared tuners and 5th-string peg, dual coordinator rods, rosewood peghead overlay with pearl "Vega" logo, star and fancy inlays, replacement clamshell tailpiece, 26-3/8"" scale, 1-5/16" nut width, we think this was made in Japan for the C.F. Martin company in the late 1970's, with HSC (black lining), , price reduced
