DOUG UNGER FLOWERPOT TUBAPHONE CONVERSION (2011): EC+, wonderful handmade banjo from renowned maker Doug Unger, 3-piece American figured cherry neck with Cole style carved boat heel, 2-way "Hotrod" truss rod, fancy engraved enhanced Fairbanks style snail shell inlays in unbound tortoise-plastic overlayed headstock and ivoroid-bound ebony fretboard, 22 frets, original 1917 Vega tubaphone rim is painted black and bound in tortoise plastic, 10-1/8" Fiberskyn head, ~26-1/8" scale length, 17/32" rim, 28 brackets, 5 early Champion pegs (only one marked "Pat'd May 8, 88) with ivoroid buttons, new No Knot tailpiece, fluted fossilized ivory nut, engraved snail maker's plate on dowel stick, great tone, original Vega tubaphone rim with new Victorian style banjo neck made in the 21st Century, superb Unger artistry and quality
