THOMAS FAWICK (1957)
G-VGC, copy of the Wilhelmj Stradivari, model F-III, Fawick was an industialist from Cleveland who had Paul Hilaire, in France, make some violins for him and others (like this one) he sent wood to Hilaire who made the parts and then Fawick had people in the Scherl & Roth shop assemble and varnish them, one piece slab cut back of medium-broad figure, golden-brown varnish, boxwood fittings with a pusch style tailpiece that has built-in fine tuners, ribs are slightly deeper than normal and along with the slab back gives it a very deep viola-like tone that is also very rich, with shaped HSC, on consignment (SN:293)
