Also includes government-made films and documentary accounts of poverty of the time, and the courage and inventiveness of workers who overcame these difficulties. 23-track CD includes news reports, comical satire, music from artists of the day such as Bessie Smith, Woody Guthrie, Roy Acuff, Eddie Cantor, others. 32-page booklet presents letters and written accounts of the struggles, as well as photographs from the period.
