In telling the story of the famous knight of La Mancha, Proctor gives a tour-de-force dramatic performance, creating over a dozen different characters from the novel. Accompanying the action, LAGQ plays brilliant new arrangements (by William Kanengiser) of pieces from Spain's Golden Age, music that Cervantes could have heard during his lifetime. Includes some of the "Greatest Hits of the Spanish Renaissance:" "Gaurdame las Vacas" and "Ludovico's Harp." In a multi-media presentation, the words and music merge together, giving the full measure of the humor, pathos and surrealism of this beloved story. As a bonus, LAGQ plays a mini-recital of the ever-popular "Barber of Seville Overture" by Rossini and "Carmen Suite" by Bizet. Filmed in front of a live audience, this is a truly innovative and unforgettable theatrical event. 132 min.
