Elderly Instruments Repair Shop Manager

Joe Konkoly

After his initial education at The Vermont Instrument Workshop in 1982, Joe returned home to western Pennsylvania to run his own shop. He joined the Elderly staff in 1987 and became the Manager and Head Repairman in 1993. He has taught building and repair at the National Guitar Summer Workshop, The Northwoods Seminar, and The Midwest Banjo Camp. His repair work is focused on vintage steel string flattop restoration and also includes banjo and mandolin work. He builds traditionally inspired flattop steel string guitars in his home workshop.
