Al Berard & Karen England
hot platter! FEET OFF THE GROUND: OLD AND NEW FIDDLE TUNES
-
We can't get enough of this delectable feast of Cajun fiddle, one of the very few albums devoted entirely to this instrument and style. Al Berard hails from south-central Louisiana and he's been a visible and respected figure in Cajun music for many years: Karen England, from the Seattle area, fell in love with Cajun music in 1978 and has been playing it ever since, often with the area's well-known "How's Bayou" band. All you'll hear are their two fiddles, a medley of the native and the distant disciple, the master and the pilgrim, the health and vitality of one of America's great indigeneous musical traditions in the hands of two of the modern era's most accomplished players. Don't miss this unusual, heartfelt recording!
