Hardback book with CD. The CD features 10 tracks from the preacher/singer-songwriter-musician whose work inspired early roots-rock artists such as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Little Richard. Including rare recordings from his Pentacostal services, featuring "He is Coming Soon," "Amazing Grace," "Lingering Could Be Your Doom," more. The 360-page book is authored by Ely's nephew, Mecel Ely II, and encompasses a biography culled from recorded interviews from over 1,000 people in the Appalachian Mountains of SW Virginia, plus 290 sepia photographs. Book measures 9.5 x 7", 1.25" thick.
