STELLING VIRGINIAN with OLD WOOD RIM & CASE: New rim built of kiln-dried old wood dredged from the "Lost Forest" in the depths of Lake Superior and turned into a superior tone machine by Tony Pass. Honors the state of Virginia, home of Stelling banjos & birthplace of the modern 5-string banjo. Shaded curly maple neck & resonator, nickel plated hardware, Stelling patented tone ring. Abalone purfling around side of resonator, along neck & around heel. Two colorful pearl cardinals in bound peghead, pearl & abalone dogwood blossoms in bound fretboard, ivoroid binding. The cardinal is the state bird and the dogwood the state flower of Virginia. Stelling archtop hardshell case. Railroad spikes installed at frets 7,8,9, & 10.
