RECORDING KING MELODY KING & CASE: A new entry to the increasingly popular lightweight, all wooden rim / tone-ring banjo realm. Styling is based upon the classic bluegrass flathead resonator banjo, but the 3-ply maple 11" diameter rim does not have the usual heavy tone-ring. Rather, the rim itself has been shaped in such a way as to simulate a flathead tone-ring, yielding a still powerful sound without the weight typical of flathead banjos. Other classic features include mahogany neck & resonator, double-cut peghead, rosewood fretboard, fan style pearl inlays in fretboard and peghead, planet pegs & geared 5th peg, nickel hardware, dual coordinator rods, 1-piece flange, adjustable truss rod, 26-1/4" scale, dark stained mahogany gloss finish & shaped flattop wooden hardshell case.
