NORTHFIELD WORKSHOP NF-F5M MASTER MODEL MANDOLIN, VARNISH FINISH & CASE: ELDERLY EXCLUSIVE - Handcrafted traditional 1920's-style F-model instrument. Premium all solid, hand carved, quarter-sawn Adirondack Red Spruce top with tone bar bracing and premium figured Northeastern Red Maple back, sides and neck. Top-quality hand-rubbed spirit varnish finish. Traditional neck shape with a very soft "V" against the palm and comfortable C-shaped shoulders. Radiused ebony fingerboard (1-1/8" at nut) with genuine mother-of-pearl dot position markers. Scalloped fingerboard extension. ~14" scale length. Traditionally shaped ebony bridge, meticulously hand-shaped to match the compound radius of the fingerboard and hand-fit to each mandolin. Grained ivoroid binding on the body, fingerboard and peg-head. Silver-plated cast brass tailpiece, premium Schaller reverse-style tuners, signature hand-varnished flamed maple pickguard, genuine mother of pearl peghead inlay and logo design. Handmade by experienced, skilled craftsmen in a small, employee-owned workshop in Asia. Carefully inspected and set-up in the USA. Impressive sound and playability -- compares well to instruments costing much more. Sunburst finish. Hardshell case included.
