Chris Hamilton began his musical life on the piano at age 5. Baritone horn followed at age 10. He began playing electric bass in local bands at age 13 and then picked up guitar at age 15. More recently he has also begun playing mandolin and ukulele. After high school he attended Musicians Institute in Hollywood California for one year where he studied electric and upright bass with Los Angeles studio musicians. He then completed a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition degree at MSU while studying piano and upright bass. Chris has performed with a variety of groups in Michigan and Hollywood and is currently playing bass with the classic rock group "Stretch-n-Two". He has been teaching lessons to beginners and experienced musicians on bass, guitar, piano and ukulele for over four years. Chris teaches from written notation, tablature, and by ear, emphasizing both musicality and technique. He has extensive experience teaching young children, teens, and adults. |
