Just listing the music Bob McCloy will teach during his hands-on fingerstyle "Beatles for Solo Guitar" Workshop evokes fine memories for many folks. To be able to play this exception long-popular music would be wonderful. Students will learn the songs mentioned in the teaser, plus "If I Fell," "Lady Madonna," "Something," and even more.
Included in the workshop cost are a teaching CD and written music (in both standard notation and tablature), to make practice easier and more fun. These fine old Beatles songs have been arranged by Bob using teaching concepts and techniques he employs with success in both his workshops and his private lessons in addition to his own performances as a professional musician.
This fingerstyle Beatles workshop has been designed for "advanced beginner" and "intermediate" level acoustic guitar players who have basic first-position chords and some basic "pattern" picking under their belts.
Selections will be from basic to intermediate level, beginning with two-part arrangements (melody and alternating bass) followed by the addition of moving bass lines and chord accompaniment. Multiple versions of the tunes will also be presented to the students, in order to demonstrate a variety of arrangement styles and techniques.
Tape recorders are welcome but not essential, as all course material is included in a CD given to all students along with written standard notation and tab. Bring an acoustic guitar.
Bob has been a popular Elderly Instruments instructor on guitar, mandolin, and fiddle (all levels and playing styles) for nearly 30 years, and the experience he has acquired in teaching literally thousands of students enables them to become musically self-sufficient (Bob's stated goal, in his own words) while turning their "work" into play.

One of Bob's longtime regulars is satisfied student Jim Bowes, who said, "Bob is an excellent teacher who takes time to deal with each student individually. He is adept at understanding what the student needs to be a better player."
If there's a Beatles-loving acoustic guitar player on your list,
this workshop could prove to be the perfect gift.
