Del's popular Fingerstyle Ukulele Workshop is designed for intermediate-level ukulele players, those who are familiar with the basic ukulele chords and who can keep time. The 90-minute hands-on workshop will emphasize fingerpicking ragtime and jazz chords and melodies on the ukulele, tune by tune. Students will specifically learn to fingerpick the tunes "Ready for the River" and "Goofus." Bring your ukulele and also an audio recorder, suggests Del.
In addition to her other numerous and varied music-related activities, Del also plays ukulele with the band The Yes Yes Boys (providing an entertaining combination of saxophone, clarinet, ukulele and washboard) and with The Yes Yes Boys has recorded the album Why Say No?.
Audiences and critics have responded so favorably to the Del Rey/Steve James concert combo that the duo have spent the majority of their time on the road, performing and teaching others to enjoy their blues music. "Concerts by this duo are, of course, unforgettable affairs.... No studio tricks, no production grand-standing: it's more like what you hear is what you get." - Rootstown, Belgium
