Gibson Day: a Good Day for Great Deals!

"It seems like Gibson has just always been there...."

Saturday , July 31, 2004
10:00 am - all day
Location: Elderly Instruments
in-store event (free)

On Saturday, July 31, 2004, we're celebrating The Gibson Guitar Company's 110th year in the music industry by offering special, IN-STORE-ONLY, deals all day long on designated Gibson merchandise. In a nutshell, great Gibson in-store deals include: $50 off all regularly-priced in-stock Gibson instruments over $500; $25 off all in-stock Epiphone instruments; a free Gibson Pickup Clinic with professional demonstrations; free merchandise with the purchase of Gibson pickups; and a free special three-hour guitar string-changing service for six-string steel-string guitar customers (see exceptions to this free service below).

Both the Gibson Pickup Clinic and the string-changing service will be offered by Elderly's Gibson Area Sales Representative Hank Ettel. Hank will be here when we open at 10 a.m., to provide pickup demonstrations, answer questions, and give everyone a chance to try out Gibson's Double Neck Demo guitar in order to check out a variety of Gibson's ever-popular pickups. Customers who purchase a Gibson pickup will receive a FREE set of Gibson strings. Customers who purchase two Gibson pickups will receive a FREE Gibson logo strap.

From 12 noon till 3 p.m., Hank will provide a free guitar string-changing service; he'll answer questions about strings and replace your current strings with a set of new Gibson strings. This offer applies to both acoustic and electric steel-string six-string guitars. PLEASE NOTE: This offer does NOT apply to classical or twelve-string guitars. Guitars with Floyd Rose bridge systems will receive a free set of Gibson strings but installation is NOT included due to time constraints.

After 3 p.m. Hank will continue with the Gibson Pickup Clinic, answering questions on pickups. The Double Neck Demo guitar will be available for checking out Gibson pickups throughout the day Saturday.

We carry some excellent books on Gibson. Perusing one of them recently, we noted a sweet--and relevant--assessment of Gibson in Walter Carter's Gibson Guitars: 100 Years of an American Icon, published in 1994: "Like Coca-Cola, Levi's, or Harley-Davidson, Gibson has transcended mere brand-name status to become a presence in life. It seems like Gibson has just always been there, and for all practical musical purposes, that's true. The first Gibsons appeared right along with the first recordings of music, and Gibsons were there through every popular music form of the 20th century."

Stop in on July 31 and check out merchandise made by an American icon.
