Elderly Instruments, Hal Leonard Publishing Company, and Acoustic Guitar Magazine are proud to co-host an acoustic guitar workshop titled "Slide Guitar & Fingerstyle Blues" given by virtuoso musician/teacher/author David Hamburger.
In addition, special 15% discounts are offered to all Elderly customers as well as workshop attendees throughout the day Saturday, on all of Elderly's long-popular and successful David Hamburger/Hal Leonard acoustic guitar instructional publications.
The free "Slide Guitar & Fingerstyle Blues" workshop is limited to 20 attendees and is directed toward intermediate-level players; it will be most beneficial to players who are familiar with alternating thumb Travis-picking.
David will present material from his instructional books and magazine lessons, and he'll also provide hands-on instruction. Techniques covered will include the alternating-thumb, steady bass and walking bass approaches, hammer-ons, pull-offs, hot acoustic blues licks, basic slide technique, and how to arrange a song's melody over an alternating bass.
Acoustic Guitar Magazine's Education Editor, David has authored numerous popular acoustic guitar method books and dozens of magazine lessons on everything from fingerstyle blues, slide guitar, and open tunings to flatpicking, swing improvisation, and theory.
David lives in Austin, Texas, where he plays dobro with the bluegrass band The Grassy Knoll Boys and fronts the acoustic blues quintet Beaumont Lagrange.
Although there is no charge for this workshop, please sign up early because space is limited. Call the showroom at [517]372-7880 X1 to reserve a spot, or stop in and sign up in person, and peruse some of David's many successful Hal Leonard Acoustic Guitar Method instructional books.
