The Krüger Brothers from Switzerland have been playing music professionally since 1971. Twenty years later, after playing together in various formations throughout Europe, the two brothers, Uwe (pronounced Oovay) on guitar, and Jens (pronounced Yenz) on banjo, teamed up with New York bassist Joel Landsberg who has become just like another brother. Krüger Brothers performances are exciting, calming, entertaining and spontaneous all-in-one, exhibiting their sheer joy in playing music. Although each of these musicians has earned credit for his instrumental skills individually, it's the interaction of the three together which makes their music special. Traditional American Folk and Bluegrass music would probably be the closest description of their style. Add to that their personal musical development along with their Classical music influences, and you have acoustic string music with a new rich flavor.

What Richard & Doc Watson say about the Kruger Brothers' music:

Doc: "I haven't heard a set of music in many a day that I enjoyed more than I did the Kruger Brothers at Greenfield's in Ashe County (NC) over in West Jefferson. That was...oh man...! As the old saying goes, I was in hog heaven (laughs)." Richard: "I think they do their music very tastefully and it really touches you where music should, right in the heart and it brought tears to my eyes. I really enjoy their music." Doc: "They way they used Frosty Morn and Cuckoo Bird and Twin Sisters that old time banjo tune, the way they wove that together with little, almost classical riffs between the songs yet not losing one bit of the flavor...I couldn't believe the work that they had done on that music to put it together like that without taking away anything from the original. And their harmonies when they sing are so great!"
