"Mystic Shake is all about lighthearted fun" wrote Ricardo Cooney in his Lansing State Journal review of the CD "Shake Your Can. On their third recording, "Serious Fun," Mystic Shake explores meaningful subject matter along with their signature jocular fare.

Mystic Shake has been rhythmically jesting with fans for over 10 years in the greater Lansing area. The band performs both as an electric and an "unplugged" act in venues as diverse as the Michigan Festival, the East Lansing Art festival, the Cappuccino Café, the Magic Bag and the Ten Pound Fiddle Coffeehouse. The late Brownsville Station leader Cub Koda described Mystic Shake as "…a little bit reggae, a little bit salsa and a little bit rock & roll." Mystic Shake is all about rhythmic frolic and audience participation. They are a big hit with children and the young at heart of all ages. A typical performance finds their fans singing, shaking and dancing along with the band.
