Ever wanted to join in an Irish session with your guitar, but not sure how to back up all those tunes' This workshop will cover the basics of Irish accompaniment. Lots of emphasis will be placed on good rhythm, tasteful chord choices, and session etiquette. Suitable for players of guitar, bouzouki, mandolin and other chordal instruments. This workshop is aimed at players who have a basic command of chords and can change quickly and fluently. "Siucra" (sugar in Irish) is a Colorado based trio playing traditional Irish music. Since forming 2 years ago, the group has been on a non-stop ride, performing in festivals, theaters and pubs. "A Place I Know", the group's debut CD, has been recently featured in the Elderly Catalogue, as well as Acoustic Guitar and Irish Music Magazine. The members of Siucra have just returned from an extended stay in Ireland (with stops in Boston & Chicago), where their time was spent further honing their skills.
