Cary Fridley, of the popular old-time string band The Freight Hoppers, starts with the basics of proper breathing and posture and provides exercises for getting a strong, resonant sound. She shows how to sing with your "chest" voice as opposed to your "head" voice, how to project and hold notes with proper support, "fixing" out of tune notes, and she demonstrates duet singing with Frank Lee on "Anchored in Love." These songs tell a story and Cary shows how she phrases and interprets "Man of Constant Sorrow," "A-Roving on A Winter's Night" and "My Love has Brought Me to Despair."
