His gentle, elfin demeanor, deceptively smooth three-finger picking style, and sometimes suggestive blues lyrics made him a favorite during the "folk boom" of the 1960s -- and he was the picker that everyone, from Tom Paxton to John Sebastian to Merle Watson, wanted to emulate. This 3-CD set comprises all the studio recordings made after his late-life rediscovery, originally produced by Patrick Sky and released on the three Vanguard albums "Today!", "The Immortal Mississippi John Hurt" and "Last Sessions" in '66 and '67.
