Here's the much-anticipated second volume to JSP-CD901, the best-sounding, most nicely-packaged, attractively-priced Django collection we've ever seen. These four CDs, in a 6"x6" slipcase, feature the Gypsy jazz guitar genius in sides from later in his career, 1937-48. There are many more delectable goodies here: a generous helping of tracks from the famed Quintette du Hot Club de France, with violinist Stephane Grappelly, plus many cuts with Coleman Hawkins and other jazz contemporaries, and a number of Django standards missing from Vol. 1---"Minor Swing," "Douce Ambience," "Nuages," "Manoir des Mes Reves," "Swing 42" and much, much more; 85 timeless tracks in all.
