MANDOLIN BLUES: In 1998, Chicago's venerable Delmark Records finally issued on CD one of the jewels of their catalog, done in 1963 when many of the pre-war blues greats were enjoying revived careers. This was East Tennessee's mandolin bluesman "Yank" Rachell reunited with his cronies from back in the day: the legendary Sleepy John Estes and their harp-and-jug man Hammie Nixon. "The Tennessee Three" were joined by Big Joe Williams and Mike Bloomfield, and blues history was waxed!
