This series is designed to teach aspiring pickers the intros, endings, back-ups and lead parts for 21 essential bluegrass tunes. Each book features a different instrument--guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin or bass--so that every member of your band can learn their part. On the CD, the backup band (featuring a virtual "dream team" of professional pickers) provides multiple rhythm tracks at slow-to-moderate tempos. Matt jumps in and plays a basic version of the melody, followed by a more adventurous improvisation. He drops out and the band continues, providing solid backup tracks.
