This section highlights instruments that, for one reason or another, we're selling in AS-IS condition, without our usual 30 day warranty. Some just need a tweak or two here or there to get into playing shape, while other might have some more serious repair problems that we just didn't have the time or inclination to deal with. So check 'em out - if you're into doing basic setup and repair work you might just find a bargain!

A 1930's 12" rim from Gibson is virtually unheard of (the only exception being a 5-string model much like this one which surfaced a couple of years ago) and this instrument was undoubtedly some kind of custom order or experimental model. It features a 12" wood rim (29/32" thickness) with a 2-piece archtop tone ring (with 33 holes of 2 different sizes), tube and 4-piece flat plate flange, gold hardware, 26 brackets, dark-finished maple neck with 22-fret ebony fingerboard and yellowed pearloid block inlays at frets 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19 and 22, double cut headstock with Flying Eagle style inlays, 2-band "GROVER PAT." tuners with mother-of-pearl buttons (one sunburst flamed maple resonator with 15" outer diameter and flat back, modern repro tuner), modern replacement Presto tailpiece engraved "Granada." Also included is a brand new 5-string neck from Bill Sullivan with Flying Eagle inlays and double cut peghead.
