VG-EC except for repaired back center seam (some overspray), ladder braced bent spruce top with oval soundhole and large inset tortoise plastic pickguard, dark-stained maple back and sides, 2-piece mahogany neck with dark center strip joins body at the 10th fret, 18-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot, slotted diamond and clover? inlays, treble extension extends into soundhole, Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay with clover? and dot inlays, plate-back tuners with ivoroid buttons, white-bound body, fretboard and soundhole, wood marquetry top purfling and soundhole rosette, ebony bridge, clamshell tailpiece, 11" body width, ~16" scale, 1-5/16" nut width, ~2-1/4" body depth, label reads "WM. C. Stahl / MANUFACTURER / Milwaukee, Wisconsin", this mandola can be seen on page 171 of "The Larsons' Creations Guitars & Mandolins" by Robert Carl Hoffman, built in Chicago by the Larson Brothers, with beat end-loading canvas SSC, on consignment (SN:19868)
