Lunasa
hot platter! OTHERWORLD
-
Many bands have been hyped as "the next Bothy Band", or "a true Irish supergroup." For most it has been a kiss-of-death akin to calling a young folksinger "the next Dylan." On this, their 1999 US debut, Lunasa proved that this time we could Believe The Hype! The four core members (Kevin Crawford, Trevor Hutchinson, Donogh Hennessy and Sean Smyth), have been at the heart of such seminal bands as the Waterboys, the Sharon Shannon Band, Moving Cloud and Coolfin. Together, they create pure musical magic. With the powerhouse rhythm section of Huchinson and Hennessy on bass and guitar, Crawford's flute, Smyth's fiddle and whistle, and guest pipers Mike McGoldrick and John McSherry, they are an unstoppable force.
