We were wondering if we'd ever see this: two albums long coveted by bluegrass fans were the first two Dillards albums, produced by Jac Holzmann for Elektra in 1963-64, long out of print on LP but somehow never issued on CD---until now, and hallelujah! They've both been issued in Europe on one CD. Here are both albums in their entirety, with original cover art, original notes and new ones, too; not to mention the Ozarks-by-way-of-L.A. combination of fine singing, breathtaking instrumental wizardry (even by today's high standards) and sheer comic entertainment that turned on a whole new generation to bluegrass music.
