MARTIN D-18 AUTHENTIC & CASE: Martin's newest old guitar is a recreation of a prized 1937 instrument. Mahogany back and sides, solid Adirondack top with forward-shifted X-brace and braces scalloped according to the style of the period, hide glue used throughout, vintage toner on top, ebony bridge with long saddle (2 5/16" string spacing), new tortoise pickguard. Neck shape is also an exact copy from the original (heavier and somewhat rounder than necks on Golden Era and Vintage Series guitars), neck is reinforced with the traditional non-adjustable T-bar, ebony fretboard (1-3/4" nut, 25.4" scale), small abalone position dots, fossil ivory nut and saddle, ebony bridge pins, 30's style hardshell case (brown vinyl covering). Many small details add up to this being the most faithful vintage recreation to date - not to mention the awesome pre-war sound!
