Many musicians consider Les Raber to be the very essence of old-time Michigan fiddling. In his lifetime he played at the Festival of American Folklife in Washington D.C. and other festivals all over the state and country. The tunes collected here include standards, tunes he learned from his grandfather, some from a dance manual called "Gems of the Ballroom," pop tunes from the early 20th century and his own compositions. This edition includes 27 new tunes for a total of 181. Features a biography of Les; reminiscences of friends, family and fellow musicians; and an interview with Les and Varsal Fales. Spiralbound. 216 pp.
